ARIMIDEX clinical trials
ARIMIDEX was first licensed in 1995, initially as a second-line treatment for postmenopausal advanced breast cancer. Since then, based on the results of a number of trials in postmenopausal breast cancer patients, ARIMIDEX has licenses in both the early and the advanced breast cancer settings. See full details of indications.
As there may be local variations in the approved label, please consult the local prescribing information before use.
ARIMIDEX clinical trials that contributed to, and support, the current indications fall into two categories: first- and second-line advanced breast cancer trials (against tamoxifen and megestrol acetate, respectively) and early breast cancer adjuvant therapy studies (ATAC and ABCSG 8/ARNO 95). The efficacy results of the key studies and data that supported the ARIMIDEX licensed indications are summarised in ATAC trial, ABCSG 8/ARNO 95 and First- and Second-line Advanced Breast Cancer Trial sections.
